Credit Risk Analyst

HeavyFinance is in the business of removing one gigaton of CO2 emissions through science-based agricultural financing.

The company operates as a marketplace connecting investors – from retail to institutional – with European farmers in need of external funding to expand their farms and shift to regenerative agriculture. To ensure a positive impact of external financing provided to farmers, our soil scientists and agronomists take soil samples and do sophisticated laboratory tests measuring the levels of CO2 removed from the atmosphere.

We are a team of 60+ professionals with offices in Warsaw, Vilnius, Lisbon and Sofia.

As a Credit Risk Analyst at Heavy Finance, specializing in agricultural finance, you will lead the evaluation and management of risks associated with financing agricultural projects. Your primary focus will be on developing and enhancing creditworthiness assessments, underwriting procedures, and decision-making processes to ensure the successful funding of agricultural loans while mitigating financial risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Analysis and assessment of the financial condition of agricultural clients;

• Assessment and analysis of risks associated with financed projects;

• Independent decision-making regarding loans for company clients;

• Development of credit evaluation procedures, methodologies, and other related procedures;

• Know-how implementation in vindication processes

Job requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in risk management roles within the financial industry (a significant advantage in the agricultural sector).

• A certain understanding of agricultural markets, production cycles, and risk factors affecting the agricultural sector (an advantage).

• Decision-making abilities in complex and dynamic environments.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence decision-making processes.

• Detail-oriented, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity in risk management practices.
